Rangers Ordered To Pay Dundee For Cameron

Football

An SPFL tribunal has ordered Rangers to pay Dundee a compensation fee of around £400,000 for midfielder Lyall Cameron.

Rangers must pay Dundee a compensation fee of around £400,000 for midfielder Lyall Cameron. An independent Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) tribunal issued the ruling after the clubs failed to agree a transfer sum for the player.

Cameron, aged 23, joined Rangers in summer 2025 after signing a pre-contract agreement in February 2025. Dundee were due development compensation because Cameron came through their youth academy and was under 23 when he moved to Ibrox.

The tribunal decision concludes approximately eleven months of disagreement between the two clubs regarding the fee. Dundee had attempted to retain Cameron and offered him improved terms before his departure. Cameron made 120 appearances for Dundee, scoring 33 goals, and helped them win the Championship title in 2022-23. He is currently on loan at Aberdeen, having moved there last week.
