Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has returned to the squad following a six-month absence to assist the club's European push.

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood is available for selection again after spending more than six months on the sidelines. The New Zealand international has not missed a penalty in competitive football for 10 years, according to the Premier League. Forest currently occupy a position in the top half of the table as they pursue qualification for the Champions League.

Wood last featured regularly for the first team during the first half of the season before a significant injury occurred. The striker told Sky Sports that he intends to help the club maintain its recent form during the final stages of the campaign. Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has integrated Wood back into training sessions at the Nigel Doughty Academy.

Since joining the club, Wood has scored several important goals, including 14 in the 2023-24 season. His return provides a central attacking option for the East Midlands side, which faces a dense fixture schedule in May. The veteran forward remains under contract at the City Ground, per Nottingham Forest.
