James Tavernier confirmed he has not received an offer for a new Rangers contract. The 34-year-old defender enters the final year of his current deal this summer, according to Sky Sports. When asked if he will remain at Ibrox next season, the captain stated that time will tell. Tavernier joined the Glasgow club in 2015 and has made more than 450 appearances.
The Rangers captain remains focused on a three-way race for the Scottish Premiership title. Per the Scottish Professional Football League, Rangers currently trail leaders Celtic by three points with five fixtures remaining in the season. Heart of Midlothian occupy third place in the standings. Tavernier said he is relishing the title challenge and feels the team must focus on their own performances to find consistency. He noted that the squad remains in a strong position despite recent results. Rangers next travel to face St Mirren on 26 April before hosting Kilmarnock at Ibrox in May.
