Sutton back Rangers for title over Celtic

Football

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes arch-rivals Rangers have a better chance of winning the Scottish Premiership this season.

Sutton stated that Rangers are more likely to win the league title than his former club, according to the SPFL. The pundit noted that Celtic have failed to beat Rangers in the league this season and must still visit Celtic Park. He described Celtic's recent form as unconvincing following their 3-1 win over Falkirk on Saturday.

Hearts currently lead the table with 73 points after 34 matches, per Sky Sports. Celtic sit in second place with 70 points, while Rangers are third with 69 points and a game in hand. Rangers recently lost 3-2 to Motherwell at Ibrox, while Hearts defeated Hibernian 2-1 on Sunday.

Sutton expressed doubt that Celtic can win their remaining four fixtures, suggesting they might struggle at Easter Road. He also highlighted the returns of Alistair Johnston and Daizen Maeda as positive factors for the Parkhead side despite his overall prediction, according to Celtic Way.
