Jamie Ritchie has agreed to join Glasgow Warriors from French side Perpignan, according to the Scottish Rugby Union. The back-row forward returns to his home country following a single season in the Top 14. Ritchie previously played for Edinburgh before moving to France.
The 29-year-old forward has earned 54 caps for Scotland and served as national captain between 2022 and 2024. Warriors head coach Franco Smith stated that Ritchie will bring significant experience to the squad for the 2026-27 campaign. The move facilitates his availability for international selection and training camps, per Scottish Rugby reports.
Glasgow currently sits in the play-off positions of the United Rugby Championship. Ritchie's arrival coincides with the departure of several senior players at the end of the current term. The length of the contract remains undisclosed by the club. He is expected to join his new teammates for pre-season training in July, following the conclusion of the French domestic season, according to The Guardian.
