Penybont secured a place in European competition for the second time in their history following a 2-0 win over Haverfordwest County on Saturday. Chris Venables opened the scoring in the first half at the SDM Glass Stadium, according to the Football Association of Wales. The veteran forward converted a cross from Mael Davies to give the home side the lead after 14 minutes.
Davies then doubled the advantage in the second half to ensure victory for Rhys Griffiths' men. Haverfordwest County were unable to find a response despite late pressure, per Sgorio reports. The result means Penybont enter the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League for the 2026-27 season.
The Bridgend-based club finished the regular Cymru Premier season in seventh position before progressing through the play-off system. They previously competed in Europe during the 2023-24 campaign. According to Cymru Football, the fixture concludes the domestic top-flight season in Wales with Penybont joining TNS, Connah's Quay Nomads, and Bala Town in European qualifying berths.
