Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson stated the club is well positioned for the future despite failing to qualify for the Championship play-offs. The Welsh side concluded their first season in the second tier following consecutive promotions from the National League and League Two. Parkinson confirmed the squad will seek to improve during the summer transfer window to compete for promotion next year, according to Sky Sports.
The manager noted that the experience gained during the current campaign provides a foundation for further progress. Wrexham maintained a competitive presence in the top half of the table for much of the season. Parkinson remains confident in the long-term project led by owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, per The Guardian.
Focus now shifts to squad retention and recruitment ahead of the 2026-27 season. The club intends to build on its recent successes to secure a place in the Premier League. Parkinson praised the supporters for their consistent backing throughout the year, stating that the unity at the Racecourse Ground is a significant asset.
