The Overlap, a media company owned by former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, has acquired the YouTube channels of digital creator Mark Goldbridge. The deal includes the popular United Stand channel, which provides fan-led coverage of Manchester United, according to The Guardian. Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, began his broadcasting career on local radio before establishing a significant digital presence.
The acquisition aims to expand the digital reach of Neville's media brand. Buzz16, the production company co-founded by Neville, already produces content for The Overlap featuring various former professional footballers. The United Stand currently has more than 1,800,000 subscribers on YouTube, per Sky Sports. Goldbridge will continue to appear on the channels as part of the new ownership structure.
No financial details regarding the purchase price have been disclosed by either party. The move represents a further consolidation of traditional sports media and independent fan-led digital platforms. Goldbridge previously worked as a police officer before transitioning into full-time content creation, according to The Athletic.
