Haiti forward Duckens Nazon has detailed his preparations for the World Cup and his recent departure from Iranian football.

Haiti's record goalscorer Duckens Nazon has reflected on his career path before facing Scotland at the World Cup. Nazon, who previously played for St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership, noted his familiarity with the Paisley area and local football culture. He scored twice in 12 appearances during his 2019 loan spell in Scotland, according to Sky Sports.

Nazon also detailed his recent departure from Iranian club Persepolis. He described the difficulty of leaving the country amidst administrative and political complexities, per The Guardian. The forward is now focused on leading the Haitian national team in their upcoming international fixtures.

Since making his debut in 2014, Nazon has scored 28 goals for Haiti, making him the nation's all-time leading scorer. He currently plays for Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig after joining them from Persepolis earlier in 2024. The striker stated that his experiences in various leagues have prepared him for the challenges of the tournament group stages.
