West Bromwich Albion have appointed interim manager James Morrison as their permanent head coach following a successful tenure.

West Bromwich Albion have named James Morrison as the club's permanent head coach. The 39-year-old former midfielder took temporary charge of the first team earlier this season following the departure of Carlos Corberán. Morrison successfully secured the club's position in the Championship after leading a recovery in results during the final months of the campaign.

Morrison spent 12 years as a player at The Hawthorns and made more than 300 appearances for the club. He joined the coaching staff in 2019 and worked under various managers before receiving this permanent appointment, according to Sky Sports. The club hierarchy opted to formalise his position ahead of the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion finished the season in 15th place in the Championship table, per the English Football League. Morrison is expected to oversee a squad overhaul during the off-season. He becomes the first permanent appointment under the club's new ownership structure, according to The Guardian.
