Livingston have been relegated from the Scottish Premiership after a single season in the top flight. The West Lothian club's fate was sealed following results elsewhere in the division on Saturday. Kilmarnock defeated Dundee United 3-0 at Rugby Park, a result which leaves Livingston unable to escape the automatic relegation spot, per Sky Sports.
David Martindale's side returned to the Premiership last summer but struggled to maintain their status throughout the campaign. The club currently sits at the bottom of the league table with three fixtures remaining in the post-split schedule. According to the Scottish Professional Football League, Livingston have recorded five wins during the current season.
The result ensures Dundee United remain in the relegation play-off position for the time being. Livingston will compete in the Scottish Championship for the 2026-27 season. The club previously spent six consecutive years in the top flight before their initial relegation in 2024, followed by an immediate promotion in 2025.
