Andoni Iraola has announced his decision to leave AFC Bournemouth at the end of the current season. The 43-year-old manager joined the club in June 2023 and led the team to its highest-ever Premier League points total during his first campaign, according to AFC Bournemouth. The Cherries currently sit in 11th place in the table following a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace on 12 April 2026.
His departure creates a vacancy at the Vitality Stadium ahead of the 2026-27 season. Premier League officials confirmed that Iraola's contract was due to expire this summer after he signed a short-term extension in May 2024. The Spaniard previously managed Rayo Vallecano in La Liga before moving to England.
Bournemouth's board has started the search for a successor to ensure a replacement is in place before the summer transfer window opens, per Sky Sports. The move is reported to be a mutual decision as Iraola seeks a new challenge in his managerial career.
