A group convicted of running an illegal streaming network has been ordered to pay more than £3,750,000 to the state. The five men operated Flawless TV, a service that provided unauthorised access to Premier League matches. A judge at Warwick Crown Court ruled that the individuals must repay the criminal profits or face significantly longer prison terms, according to the Premier League.
Mark Gould, the primary organiser of the operation, must pay back £2,300,000 within three months. Gould faces an additional 10 years in prison if he fails to meet the payment deadline. The other members received varying orders ranging from £120,000 to £500,000, per Sky Sports.
The gang was previously sentenced to a combined 30 years in prison in May 2023. They used thousands of stolen accounts to stream matches to more than 50,000 subscribers. The Premier League stated it will distribute any recovered funds to legal authorities and football development programmes. This ruling follows one of the largest ever prosecutions for such offences.
