Seattle Reign midfielder Jess Fishlock is awaiting a medical verdict after being stretchered off during a match against Bay FC.

The Wales midfielder Jess Fishlock sustained an injury during Seattle Reign's 1-0 defeat against Bay FC on Sunday. Fishlock received medical treatment on the pitch for several minutes before being carried off on a stretcher during the second half of the match in San Jose.

According to the National Women's Soccer League, the injury occurred during a challenge in the 75th minute. The 39-year-old former Wales international appeared to be in significant pain before leaving the field. Seattle Reign head coach Laura Harvey confirmed after the match that the club is waiting for the results of further medical assessments to determine the severity of the issue.

Fishlock has made more than 150 appearances for the Seattle-based club and recently retired from international football with Wales, per the Football Association of Wales. The veteran player was replaced by Tziarra King for the final 15 minutes of the contest. The club has not yet provided a specific timeline for her return to the squad.
