Chelsea have secured the long-term future of Moises Caicedo after the midfielder agreed a new contract at Stamford Bridge. The Ecuador international joined the London club from Brighton and Hove Albion in August 2023 for a British record fee. According to Sky Sports, the new agreement serves to reward the player for his consistent form during the current campaign.
Caicedo has become a central figure in the Chelsea midfield, starting the majority of fixtures under the current management. The club hierarchy viewed the deal as a priority to protect the value of one of its most utilised assets, per reports from The Athletic. His previous terms were already scheduled to run for several years, but this latest update provides improved financial conditions for the 24-year-old.
The midfielder has made more than 30 appearances for the club this season. Chelsea currently sit in the top half of the Premier League table as they pursue European qualification, according to official league statistics.
