Celtic still have title edge, says McGregor

Celtic captain Callum McGregor maintains his side remains well placed to win the league despite trailing leaders Hearts by three points.

Callum McGregor believes Celtic possess the necessary experience to retain their Scottish Premiership title. The Glasgow club currently sits second in the table, three points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian with five matches remaining. The two sides are scheduled to meet at Celtic Park on 3 May in a fixture that could prove decisive for the championship.

McGregor stated the squad remains calm despite the current deficit in the standings, according to Sky Sports. The midfielder noted that Celtic have previously navigated similar high-pressure situations during the final stages of the season. He emphasised that having players who have won multiple trophies provides a mental advantage over their rivals.

Hearts moved clear at the top following a consistent run of form under Steven Naismith, per STV News. However, the Celtic captain suggested that the requirement for Hearts to maintain their lead under scrutiny is a different challenge. Celtic have won the previous three league titles and McGregor remains confident in their ability to secure a fourth consecutive trophy.
