Brighton and Hove Albion submitted a planning application to Build Europe's first stadium dedicated to women's football, according to Brighton and Hove City Council. The proposed site is at the Horsdean Recreation Ground, situated within the South Downs National Park. The venue would serve as a permanent home for Brighton and Hove Albion Women, who currently play home fixtures at Crawley Town's Broadfield Stadium.
Club directors aim to create a world-class facility that supports the growth of the women's game. The development plans include a stadium with a capacity of several thousand spectators, high-quality training facilities, and community spaces. According to The Guardian, the project represents a significant investment in the infrastructure of the Women's Super League.
The club expects the project to encourage local participation and provide a sustainable venue for elite matches. Public consultations regarding the environmental impact on the national park will occur before final approval. The Seagulls previously integrated their women's team into the main training ground at Lancing, per Sky Sports.
