Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium will host the 2026 Women's World Sevens tournament this summer. Aston Villa Women and Manchester United Women have confirmed their participation in the event, according to a report from The Guardian. The competition features elite clubs from across the globe competing in a short-form format.
The tournament organisers confirmed that 12 teams will take part in the three-day event. This marks the first time the West London venue has staged the international sevens series, per Sky Sports. Participating squads will play multiple matches per day on a reduced pitch size to increase the pace of play.
Brentford officials expressed satisfaction at securing the hosting rights for the competition. Previous editions of the sevens tournament took place in diverse international locations. Organisers expect a high turnout for the matches involving the Women's Super League sides. Tickets for the tournament sessions go on sale later this month, according to official stadium representatives.
