The Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva intends to leave the club when his contract ends this summer, per Sky Sports. The Portuguese international joined the Manchester side from Monaco in 2017 and has served as club captain during the current campaign. His departure will conclude a nine-year stay in Manchester, where he won six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
Manchester City currently sit at the top of the Premier League table as they pursue a fifth consecutive league title, according to the Premier League. Silva previously signed a contract extension in 2023 which included a release clause of approximately £50m, but he will now exit as a free agent. The 31-year-old midfielder has made more than 350 appearances for the club under manager Pep Guardiola.
No destination has been confirmed for the midfielder, although reports from The Guardian suggest interest from clubs in Spain and France. Silva remains a regular starter for the English champions during the final weeks of the 2025-26 season.
