Bayern Munich players and staff expressed frustration after a handball claim against Joao Neves was dismissed during their semi-final.

Bayern Munich exited the Champions League following a semi-final second leg draw with Paris St-Germain at the Allianz Arena. The German champions were denied a second-half penalty when the ball struck the arm of midfielder Joao Neves in the penalty area. Referee Szymon Marciniak did not award a foul, and the decision was upheld following a review by the video assistant referee.

According to Sky Sports, the officials determined the ball deflected off Neves' thigh before making contact with his arm. Under current International Football Association Board regulations, a handball is typically not penalised if the ball touches a player's arm directly from their own body.

Paris St-Germain progressed to the final with a 3-2 aggregate victory. Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel and his players surrounded the match officials at full-time to protest the decision. The result ends Bayern's pursuit of a seventh European title, per reports from The Guardian. PSG will face Real Madrid in the final later this month.
