Stina Blackstenius has agreed a new two-year contract to remain at Arsenal. The Sweden international joined the North London club in January 2022 and has since scored 43 goals in 83 appearances, according to Arsenal. Her contributions include the winning goal in the 2024 League Cup final against Chelsea at Molineux.
Blackstenius finished the 2023-24 season as the leading goalscorer for Jonas Eidevall's side with 18 goals in all competitions. The 28-year-old forward previously played for Linkopings and BK Hacken in her home country before moving to the Women's Super League. Director of women’s football Clare Wheatley stated that Blackstenius is a key part of the attacking department, per The Guardian.
Arsenal finished the recent domestic season in third place, securing a spot in the Champions League qualifiers. The club confirmed the extension following reports of interest from other European teams. Blackstenius expressed her desire to win more trophies with the team after signing the new terms, according to Sky Sports.
