Arsenal confirmed on Tuesday that defender Steph Catley has signed a new contract with the club. The 32-year-old Australia international joined the North London side in 2020 and has made 118 appearances, scoring five goals across all competitions. Catley remains a regular fixture in the starting line-up and has helped the team win back-to-back League Cup titles in 2023 and 2024.
The defender previously played for Melbourne City and OL Reign before moving to England. According to Arsenal, Catley has been an integral part of the defence since her arrival from Australia. She has also earned 125 caps for the Australia national team, including appearances at three World Cups.
Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall described the full-back as one of the best in the world in her position, per Sky Sports. The club did not disclose the specific length of the new deal. The Gunners currently sit third in the Women's Super League table as they pursue Champions League qualification for next season.
