Wrexham wing-back James McClean has received a three-match ban for violent conduct. The Football Association confirmed the suspension following an incident during Wrexham's 2-1 Championship defeat at Swansea City last Friday, 19 December.

Footage circulated on social media appeared to show McClean, 36, aiming a boot towards Swansea winger Ronald, who was lying on the pitch in the 94th minute. Match officials did not see the incident at the time, but it was later reviewed by the FA.

McClean admitted the charge of violent conduct and accepted the standard penalty, according to an FA statement. This ban means McClean, a regular starter for Wrexham, will miss crucial upcoming Championship fixtures.

He is now unavailable for Wrexham's matches against Sheffield United, Preston North End, and Blackburn Rovers. The defeat to Swansea saw Wrexham drop to 15th in the Championship table.
