Wrexham AFC has received a significant cash injection from an American finance group, revealed in recent company filings.

Wrexham AFC has secured a £47.8 million financial boost from American sports investment firm Apollo Sports Capital (ASC). Documents filed with Companies House show a single share in the club was purchased for this amount.

This investment follows an announcement in December by co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney regarding the sale of a minority stake to ASC. The funds aim to ensure the club's financial stability during its rapid ascent through the football leagues.

The capital will contribute to the redevelopment of the Racecourse Ground, including the new Kop stand, which is scheduled to open in early 2027 as part of the Wrexham Gateway Project. It also provides working capital for infrastructure and player recruitment. The news emerged with one week remaining in the January transfer window. Wrexham currently sits sixth in the Championship, pursuing a potential fourth consecutive promotion.
