Wealdstone voice anger over Hassan Baller League appearance

Football

National League club Wealdstone have expressed frustration after midfielder Sak Hassan played in the Baller League without consent.

Wealdstone officials confirmed midfielder Sak Hassan featured in the Baller League, a six-a-side competition, without the club's authorisation. The National League side released a statement on 17 March 2026 expressing their disappointment regarding the 22-year-old's participation. The German-based tournament features various professional and semi-professional players, but Wealdstone claim they did not grant Hassan permission to travel or compete.

Hassan joined the Stones in 2024 but now faces internal disciplinary discussions following his appearance in the televised event. The club noted that player welfare and contract obligations remain a priority, according to a report by The Guardian. Wealdstone currently compete in the fifth tier of English football and rely on squad availability during the closing stages of the season.

Club representatives stated they will handle the matter internally and made no further comment on potential sanctions for the player. The midfielder has previously played for Sudbury and Hashtag United before moving to the Grosvenor Vale stadium, per Sky Sports records. The club expects all personnel to follow professional protocols.
