Wales head coach Craig Bellamy warned his squad about the threat posed by Bosnia-Herzegovina captain Edin Dzeko ahead of their World Cup play-off semi-final. The 39-year-old forward remains a focal point for the Bosnian national team despite his age. Bellamy stated that Dzeko possesses qualities that make him a difficult opponent for any defence, according to Sky Sports.
The striker, who currently plays for Turkish club Fenerbahce, has maintained his fitness and goalscoring form in recent seasons. Bellamy noted that Dzeko is a player his team must organise against effectively to progress in the tournament. Bosnia-Herzegovina travel to Cardiff for the knockout tie later this month.
Per The Guardian, Wales enter the fixture seeking a place in the play-off final to secure a spot at the 2026 World Cup. Bellamy expressed confidence in his players but emphasised the need for discipline when facing a striker of Dzeko's experience. The winner of the match will face either Finland or Iceland for a position in the finals.
