Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Ben White must speak with his international colleagues following his recall to the England squad. The Arsenal defender returned to the national setup for the first time since leaving the 2022 World Cup camp in Qatar for personal reasons. Tuchel stated that White needs to address the situation to ensure a positive atmosphere within the group, per Sky Sports.
The head coach held private discussions with White before naming his latest squad. According to The Guardian, the defender has not featured for his country since March 2022 after previously making himself unavailable for selection under former manager Gareth Southgate. Tuchel noted that while the player’s quality is not in question, integration remains a priority for the coaching staff.
White has earned four caps for the senior team since his debut in 2021. The 28-year-old remains a regular starter for Arsenal in the Premier League. England are preparing for upcoming fixtures as Tuchel begins his tenure as permanent head coach, according to The Athletic.
