Everton forward Katja Snoeijs has opened up about her long-term struggle with endometriosis. The Netherlands international described the physical sensation of the condition as being stabbed in the stomach, per The Guardian. Snoeijs experienced severe symptoms for several years before medical professionals confirmed the diagnosis during her time in France.
The 28-year-old forward noted that she often felt she had to apologise for her pain before understanding the cause. According to The Athletic, Snoeijs found that her symptoms became more manageable once she received the correct diagnosis and treatment. She highlighted the importance of increasing awareness and research into the condition, which affects many women in sport.
Snoeijs continues to play for Everton Women in the Women's Super League. The club currently occupies 10th position in the league table, according to Sky Sports. The striker remains a key part of the squad as they navigate the remainder of the 2025-26 domestic campaign.
