Forward Shea Lacey, 18, is in contention for a senior Manchester United role following his return from a long-term injury absence.

Manchester United academy forward Shea Lacey is training with the first-team squad as he pursues a senior debut. The 18-year-old recently recovered from a six-month injury layoff that restricted his appearances during the previous campaign. He signed his first professional contract with the club in April 2024, according to Manchester United.

Lacey predominantly operates as a right-winger but can also play as an attacking midfielder. He has represented England at under-15, under-16, and under-17 levels, per the Football Association. Technical staff at Carrington have monitored his progress closely since he joined the club as a child.

Managerial staff included the teenager in senior training sessions at the end of the 2023-24 season to accelerate his development. He is now expected to feature in upcoming matchday squads if his fitness remains stable. United coaches view Lacey as a significant prospect for the future of the attack, according to reports from The Athletic. The player remains under contract at Old Trafford following his multi-year agreement signed last year.
