Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior says Robert Sanchez was disappointed after being omitted from the starting line-up against Aston Villa.

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior confirmed Robert Sanchez was unhappy to be left out of the team for the recent fixture at Aston Villa. Rosenior stated that he does not currently have a definitive number one goalkeeper at the club. The head coach explained that selections are made based on tactical requirements for specific opponents and training performance, according to Sky Sports.

Filip Jorgensen started the match at Villa Park in place of Sanchez. Rosenior noted that he spoke with Sanchez regarding the decision and acknowledged the player's frustration at the omission. The head coach emphasised that every member of the squad must compete for their position in the starting eleven, per The Guardian.

Chelsea sit in the top half of the Premier League table following the result against Villa. The club continues to rotate several positions as Rosenior implements his system. The coaching staff will evaluate both goalkeepers before the next match to determine who starts, according to the Premier League.
