Cristiano Ronaldo has purchased a 25 percent share in UD Almeria, according to reports from Spain. The Al Nassr striker joins the ownership group led by Turki Al-Sheikh, the current chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority. Al-Sheikh has owned the club since 2019.
Almeria currently competes in the Segunda Division after suffering relegation from La Liga last season. The deal marks Ronaldo’s first significant move into European club ownership, per Reuters. He remains under contract as a player in the Saudi Pro League until June 2025.
The acquisition follows several commercial collaborations between Ronaldo and Al-Sheikh in Saudi Arabia. Sources close to the deal suggest the partnership aims to increase the international profile of the Andalusian club. Almeria sits in the mid-table positions of the second tier as they bid for an immediate return to the top flight. Ronaldo previously spent nine years in Spain playing for Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, where he won four Champions League titles.
