Real Madrid and Uefa have announced an agreement to conclude their long-running legal battle concerning the proposed European Super League.

Real Madrid and Uefa announced on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, they had reached an agreement to end their protracted legal dispute over the proposed European Super League. The deal, also involving the European Football Clubs (EFC), aims to resolve all outstanding legal actions between the parties. This development follows Barcelona's withdrawal from the Super League project just days earlier, which left Real Madrid as the last remaining club committed to the breakaway competition.

The controversial Super League was initially launched in April 2021 by twelve top European clubs, including six from the Premier League. However, it quickly collapsed within 48 hours due to widespread fan and government pressure across Europe. The new agreement is described as being 'for the good of European club football', emphasising sporting merit and improving the fan experience through technology. Real Madrid had previously sought billions in damages from Uefa over the blocked project.
