Mauricio Pochettino says he misses the environment of English football as he continues his role as the head coach of the United States.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea manager admitted he misses the world of football in England during a press conference in Cary, North Carolina. Mauricio Pochettino currently leads the United States men's national team after his departure from Stamford Bridge in May 2024. He stated that his staff also feel a connection to the English game, according to Sky Sports.

Pochettino spent more than five years at Tottenham, leading them to the 2019 Champions League final, and a single season with Chelsea. He described England as a special place where the fans and media create a unique atmosphere, per ESPN. The 54-year-old manager noted that the English football culture remains difficult to replicate elsewhere in the world.

The head coach is preparing his squad for upcoming fixtures in the CONCACAF region. Despite his affection for his former league, he remains committed to the American national project ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Pochettino confirmed he maintains a residence in London, per The Guardian.
