Parkinson says Wrexham ready for Championship return

Football

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson reports his squad are eager to resume their promotion bid following the international break.

Phil Parkinson stated his players are eager to resume the Championship campaign. The manager noted the squad benefitted from a period of training during the international break. Wrexham currently sit in the promotion places as they prepare for the final stages of the season, according to Sky Sports.

Parkinson told reporters the players are "chomping at the bit" to return to competitive action. The club is aiming for a third successive promotion following their rise from the National League and League Two. James McClean and Connor Roberts returned from international duty without injury concerns, per The Guardian.

Preparation focused on maintaining the physical levels required for the run-in. Wrexham face a congested fixture list during April as they compete for a spot in the Premier League. The manager confirmed that most of the first-team squad is available for selection. Results from upcoming matches will determine if the club secures an automatic promotion place or enters the play-offs.
