Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made an immediate impact for Celtic, scoring a stoppage-time winner against Livingston on Wednesday. The former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder, who last played competitively in May before leaving Besiktas, secured a 2-1 Scottish Premiership victory at Parkhead.
Marcelo Saracchi opened the scoring for Celtic after 15 minutes. Livingston equalised through a Robbie Muirhead penalty in the 57th minute, after Reo Hatate committed a foul inside the area. Oxlade-Chamberlain then curled home his debut goal in the second minute of added time, securing a vital comeback.
Celtic manager Martin O'Neill praised Oxlade-Chamberlain's contribution, stating he was "delighted to have him" and that he is a "class player". O'Neill also noted Oxlade-Chamberlain had only been with the team a "couple of days". The win moves Celtic to within six points of league leaders Hearts, with a game in hand.
