Joelle Murray has been appointed head coach of Hibernian Women, the club announced on Tuesday. The Hibernian legend steps up from her role as first team coach, replacing Grant Scott who departed on Monday to take over at Celtic FC Women.

Murray, aged 39, made a record 507 appearances for Hibernian Women during her illustrious playing career, which concluded at the end of the 2023/24 season. She earned 48 caps for Scotland and won two league titles, seven Scottish Cups, and five League Cups with Hibs as a player, becoming the team's most decorated player.

As a first team coach, Murray played a key role in Hibernian Women's historic Scottish Women's Premier League title triumph in May 2025, their first league success in 18 years. Grant Scott had guided the team to that significant achievement before his move to Celtic, where he replaces Elena Sadiku.
