Craig McLeish confirmed he is comfortable with the prospect of becoming the permanent manager of St Mirren. The caretaker took charge of the Scottish Premiership side following the recent departure of Stephen Robinson. McLeish stated that his week leading the first team intensified his interest in the role, according to Sky Sports.

St Mirren currently sit in eighth place in the Scottish Premiership table after 29 matches. The club has yet to announce a timeline for a permanent appointment, but the board is considering internal and external candidates. Under McLeish, the squad has continued its preparations for upcoming league fixtures.

The coach previously served as an assistant at the Paisley club before stepping into the interim role. Per STV News, McLeish believes he possesses the necessary experience to lead the team long-term. St Mirren officials have not commented further on the recruitment process as they evaluate the current management structure.
