Interim manager Craig McLeish has expressed his desire to remain at St Mirren beyond the current season if the club avoids relegation.

Craig McLeish remains in charge of St Mirren as the club enters the final stages of the Scottish Premiership season. The interim manager took the position following the departure of Stephen Robinson earlier this year. McLeish stated his intention to secure the role on a permanent basis provided the team maintains its top-flight status, according to Sky Sports.

St Mirren currently occupy 11th place in the league table, three points clear of the automatic relegation spot held by Livingston. The Paisley club has struggled for consistency, recording only two wins in their last 10 fixtures. Despite recent form, the board has not yet interviewed alternative candidates for the vacancy, per STV News.

Club officials intend to review the managerial situation once the season concludes in May. The board remains focused on survival before making a long-term commitment. McLeish previously served as a first-team coach under the former management structure. St Mirren face crucial fixtures against Ross County and Motherwell in the coming weeks.
