McGlynn responds to McGinn St Mirren links

Falkirk manager John McGlynn has addressed reports linking his first-team coach Stephen McGinn with the managerial vacancy at St Mirren.

McGlynn stated he understands why McGinn is being considered for the position at the Paisley club. The vacancy arose after Stephen Robinson left St Mirren to join Hibernian earlier this week. McGinn previously played for the Buddies during three separate spells and served as club captain, according to Sky Sports.

McGlynn described the coach as a very intelligent individual who possesses a deep knowledge of the game. He noted that McGinn’s connection to St Mirren makes him a natural candidate for the role. However, the Falkirk manager confirmed that no official approach has been made for his staff member, per STV News.

Falkirk currently sit at the top of the Scottish Championship table. McGinn joined the coaching staff at the Falkirk Stadium following his retirement from professional playing duties. The 37-year-old remains a popular figure at St Mirren Park where he made over 200 appearances. St Mirren are expected to begin formal interviews for the post in the coming days.
