John McGinn reflects on a decade of international service and recovers from a hamstring injury ahead of the World Cup.

John McGinn has completed 10 years of service for the Scotland men's national team after making his debut in March 2016. The Aston Villa captain admitted to concerns regarding his fitness for the upcoming World Cup following a hamstring injury sustained earlier this season. McGinn feared the issue might jeopardise his participation, but he has since returned to competitive action, per Sky Sports.

The midfielder has earned over 70 caps for his country and remains a central figure in Steve Clarke's squad. Domestic success has also continued for the McGinn family this term. His brother, Stephen McGinn, works as a coach at St Mirren, while Paul McGinn captains Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

Scotland's preparations for the tournament continue after securing qualification. McGinn is expected to play a significant role in the finals, according to The Guardian. The former Hibernian player has scored 19 goals for the national side during his decade-long international career.
