A Paris labour court has ordered Paris Saint-Germain to pay Kylian Mbappe €60 million (£50 million) in unpaid wages and bonuses. The ruling, delivered on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, partially resolves a dispute between the player and his former club.
The sum includes a £1.3 million (€1.5 million) ethics bonus, plus £125,000 (€150,000) in associated paid leave. Such ethics clauses are common in modern football contracts, rewarding players for good behaviour and upholding club values. PSG's system requires adherence to rules covering conduct towards teammates, opponents, training punctuality, and media commitments.
The court found PSG failed to pay Mbappe for April, May, and June 2024, before his free transfer to Real Madrid. PSG had argued Mbappe acted disloyally by concealing his departure plans, preventing a transfer fee. The club also cited an alleged verbal agreement for Mbappe to waive bonuses if he left for free, but no written proof was presented. PSG may appeal the decision.
