Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta will not feature in Sunday's Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest. Manager Oliver Glasner confirmed the decision, stating Mateta is "not in the right place" to play.
The 28-year-old's absence follows continued speculation surrounding his future at Selhurst Park. AC Milan has reportedly made an offer for Mateta, proposing an initial loan with a £35m permanent transfer in the summer.
Nottingham Forest also submitted a £35m bid for the striker, but Crystal Palace has not yet responded. Palace reportedly prefers not to sell to a Premier League rival. Mateta is understood to favour a move to Serie A, having agreed terms with Milan on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The match between Forest and Palace takes place at the City Ground on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 14:00 GMT.
