Man Utd seek replacement for outgoing Casemiro

Manchester United have reportedly identified midfield targets as Casemiro prepares to leave the club at the end of the season.

Manchester United are organising a search for a new defensive midfielder to replace Casemiro. The Brazilian international is expected to depart Old Trafford this summer, according to The Guardian. Club officials want a younger profile to fill the number six role in the squad.

Benfica midfielder Joao Neves remains a primary target for the club, per Sky Sports. The 19-year-old reportedly has a release clause of £103m in his current contract. United have monitored the player throughout the current campaign as they look to lower the average age of the first-team squad.

Amadou Onana of Everton is also said to be on the shortlist. United's recruitment department has tracked the Belgian midfielder since his move to Goodison Park, according to ESPN. The club aims to finalise a shortlist before the transfer window opens. Any move depends on the final budget allocated by the board following recent structural changes at the club.
