Former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has signed a new one-year contract extension at Old Trafford.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has agreed to a one-year contract extension, according to Manchester United. The 33-year-old centre-back, who arrived from Leicester City in 2019, will remain at the club until June 2027. The club exercised a clause in his previous agreement to ensure he did not become a free agent this summer.

Maguire has made 20 appearances for the men's first team this season and remains a regular part of the squad under the current management. Per Sky Sports, the England international has previously faced speculation regarding his future but chose to stay and compete for his place in the starting line-up.

The defender has won the League Cup during his time in Manchester and served as club captain for three and a half years before the role passed to Bruno Fernandes. Manchester United currently sits in sixth place in the Premier League table following a 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday, per the Premier League.
