Kris Lindsay will manage the Northern Ireland women's team for their opening 2027 Women's World Cup qualifiers in March.

Kris Lindsay has been appointed interim manager of the Northern Ireland senior women's team. He will take charge for their initial two 2027 Women's World Cup qualifiers in March, the Irish Football Association confirmed. Lindsay steps in following Tanya Oxtoby's departure in November to manage Newcastle United.

Northern Ireland will face Switzerland away on Tuesday, 3 March, in their opening European qualifier. They then play Turkey at home on Saturday, 7 March. Lindsay currently manages the Northern Ireland men's under-16 team and has previous coaching experience with Irish Premiership side Dungannon Swifts, Cliftonville, and Glenavon.

The Irish Football Association stated this interim arrangement allows for a thorough and diligent search for a permanent head coach. Director of Women's Football, Angela Platt, emphasised the importance of taking proper time to define the long-term vision for the programme.
