Aberdeen have confirmed the departure of first-team coach Peter Leven following three separate periods in temporary charge of the club.

Aberdeen confirmed the exit of Peter Leven on 20 March 2026. The former midfielder initially joined the Pittodrie coaching staff in 2023 under Barry Robson. He subsequently served three separate stints as interim manager during a period of transition for the Scottish Premiership side.

Leven first took charge following the dismissal of Robson in January 2024. He assumed control again after Neil Warnock departed the club in March 2024. His final spell as caretaker occurred prior to the appointment of Jimmy Thelin. According to Sky Sports, Leven remained at the club as an assistant coach under the Swedish manager before reaching a mutual agreement to leave.

The club thanked Leven for his loyalty and professionalism during his tenure in the North East. Aberdeen currently sit in the top half of the Scottish Premiership table, per official league data. The club has not yet named a direct replacement for the coaching role, according to The Guardian.
