Leicester City has released financial figures showing a pre-tax loss of £71.1m for the 2024-25 season. This period covered the club's return to the top flight following promotion from the Championship. Turnover for the year decreased to £166.4m, down from £177.3m in the previous financial year, per club accounts.
The decline in revenue was largely attributed to lower broadcasting income and a reduction in merit payments. Operating costs remained high as the club attempted to maintain its Premier League status. Staff costs were recorded at £145.8m, representing 88 percent of total turnover, according to Sky Sports.
Despite the deficit, the club confirmed it complied with the Profit and Sustainability Rules for the monitoring period ending June 2025. This follows a previous successful appeal against a points deduction. The Foxes currently sit 16th in the Premier League table after 29 matches. The board stated it remains committed to long-term financial stability while competing at the highest level of English football, per The Guardian.
