Larne extend lead to six points in Premiership

Larne defeated Cliftonville 2-0 on Saturday to move six points clear at the top of the Irish Premiership as their rivals dropped points.

Larne secured a 2-0 victory against Cliftonville at Inver Park to strengthen their position at the top of the Irish Premiership table. Lee Bonis opened the scoring for the hosts before Andy Ryan doubled the advantage from the penalty spot. The result leaves the defending champions six points clear with five games remaining in the season, according to the News Letter.

Glentoran lost ground in the title race after drawing 1-1 with Linfield at The Oval. Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe gave the home side the lead, but Matthew Fitzpatrick equalised for the visitors in the second half. The draw keeps Glentoran in second place, though they now trail the leaders by a wider margin.

Elsewhere in the division, Crusaders earned a 3-1 win over Coleraine to boost their European qualification hopes, per the Belfast Telegraph. Loughgall also secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Glenavon. The league now enters the post-split fixtures to determine the final standings for the 2025-26 campaign.
