President Trump praised the club's rapid rise in Major League Soccer and acknowledged Messi's impact on the sport in North America, according to Reuters. The delegation included co-owner David Beckham and head coach Tata Martino. During the ceremony, the club presented the president with a personalised Inter Miami jersey featuring his name and the number 47, per the Associated Press.
The event marked a traditional celebration for American sports champions. Messi, who joined the Florida-based club in 2023, has now secured multiple trophies with the side. Inter Miami currently lead the Eastern Conference standings as they begin their title defence in the 2026 season, per Major League Soccer.
