Injuries hit Hearts title charge in Edinburgh

Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts will lose Eduardo Ageu for the season while Stuart Findlay faces six weeks on the sidelines.

Heart of Midlothian head coach Neil Critchley confirmed several significant injury setbacks for the league leaders ahead of their upcoming fixtures. Brazilian forward Eduardo Ageu is ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after sustaining a serious knee injury. The record signing underwent scans this week following a knock in recent training, according to the Edinburgh Evening News.

Defender Stuart Findlay will miss approximately six weeks of action due to a calf tear. The centre-back recently joined the club on loan from Oxford United but suffered the setback during Saturday's victory. Additionally, goalkeeper Craig Gordon is unavailable for selection following a minor procedure on a recurring finger issue, per reports from Sky Sports.

Critchley stated that Zander Clark will continue in goal while Gordon recovers. The injuries arrive as Hearts maintain a narrow lead at the top of the table. The club remains hopeful that Findlay can return for the post-split fixtures in April, while Ageu prepares for surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation period.
